The roaster that inspired it
From the mid-2010s until around 2025, a small coffee roaster called Yeti Fazenda COFFEE ran an online shop at this web address. Based in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, on the shore of Lake Biwa, it roasted house blends in small batches on a roughly forty-year-old Fuji Royal drum roaster its owners affectionately called buta-gama, the “pig kettle.” Its blends had friendly names—Yeti, Snow, Hana, Classic and a decaf—and it sold drip bags, doughnuts, scones and cannelé alongside them.
The shop described its coffee as analog: not trendy, maybe not striking, but like a classic white shirt or a pair of sneakers, a cup you naturally reach for again.
What this site is (and isn't)
That shop is no longer operating here. This website is an independent, non-commercial coffee journal. We are not the original roastery, are not affiliated with its owners, and do not sell coffee, take orders or accept payments. If you are looking for the original business, please search for it directly; any former customer accounts, orders or gift cards from the old shop cannot be handled here.
What we keep is the idea: approachable, unpretentious writing about small-batch roasting, hand brewing, Japanese coffee culture and the small pleasures around a cup.
